Next Virtual Meeting:

SQData's Scott Quillicy

Date: 22 August 2017
Time: 10:30am Central Daylight Time
Title: Real-Time Streaming – IMS to Apache Kafka and Hadoop
Presenter: SQData's Scott Quillicy
Abstract: A key requirement of data analytics is that the information being mined should be as current as possible. Companies who operate against day old (or older) data are at a serious disadvantage to those who leverage current information. The mainframe still holds much of the world's operational data and having access to this data in its most current state is becoming more critical.

This presentation focuses on how customers are streaming mainframe IMS data updates into Apache Kafka and Hadoop near-real-time.

Topics include:
- Highlighting the common mistakes being made and how to avoid them
- General design and performance considerations
- Common data issues
- Latency expectations.
