Title: IMS CDC to Kafka - Performance and Tuning
Presenter: Scott Quillicy, Principal at SQData Corporation
Abstract: Companies that are serious about real-time data analytics likely use Kafka as the streaming component for ingesting their operational data. Kafka is a solid technology that can handle an extremely high flow of messages, which is critical for real time analysis (think IBM MQ on steroids). However, as good as the Kafka technology is, there always seems to be someone who is very good at breaking Kafka and/or slowing down throughput to a point where it might as well be broken. Throwing in IMS as a source definitely increases the opportunity for performance issues.

In this presentation, we will be discussing how to configure and tune Kafka for the near-real-time ingestion of large, high-volume IMS data sources.
